I've been having a big problem with roaches in my apartment, so I went to wal-mart today and bought some roach spray. So I sprayed it all the appropriate places about 20 minutes ago, and so far 2 roaches have come out and proceeded to have seizures on the floor, its pretty cool actually watching them die a slow, painful death. Anyway, they always seem to die upside-down. Does anyone know why?

While they are alive they have a delicate balance.
When they die, they lose the balance and topple over.
    Simple as that.

But one would think that their legs would just fold up and they'd just lie flat. A tarantula will die that way, it's legs will just fold in and it will rest right-side up but with it's legs fold in. Perhaps the underside of the roaches body is curved and muscle contractions when dieing or after death kind of roll it over whereby it rests on it's back..

Next time set up a video camera!

Why do beetles tip over all the time? Every time I walk out the front door there seems to be a beetle there that I have to pick up and put back on its feet. Are they just really poorly designed animals?

Just ignore them. They're only doing it for attention.

Whenever I kill a roach, they usually end up not upside down but inside-out... (SQUISH!)
