Hello!

I have Lifeforce and Withnail and I on (Region 2) DVD and I can't understand for the life of me why they aren't anamorphic. I also bought "The Package" (1989 Gene Hackman thriller) which is on MGM DVD like Lifeforce but IS Anamorphic.

WHO has at the DVD division of a company has the right to decide that one film doesn't deserve a 16:9 Enhanced print, but another one does?

Does anyone think Lifeforce will be re-released again...? I thought not. Think of the other DVDs like this. It's sheer laziness! It just pisses me off! Is it that to create an anamorphic print is TOO expensive or what? Someone (with insider knowledge, at least!) explain to me!

Creating a suitable 16:9 transfer is expensive. For "budget" catalogue titles, it's often too expensive when there's already an existing 4:3 transfer that can be used.
