I rarely do this but I am going for the BestBuy Steelbook release simply to avoid that god-awful artwork (U.S. release).

I don't know what the WB art department was thinking. I understand that the original poster art has been used in just about every prior release dating back to VHS but they could have gone with something better than what they did.

The BestBuy exclusive artwork is just fine
That god awful cover art is unfortunately also the top menu on both discs.

Amazon UK has sold out their initial stock - obviously quite a few Americanos opting for the non-Grindhouse cover.

BestBuy continues to be sold out on the 4k SteelBook. I refuse to buy the regular edition.

Even the streaming version I previously had from Movies Anywhere changed to the awful cover art. No getting away from it.

idk, because I saw it at Target yesterday and it was only $20. And I looked at the cover art and thought, eh I don't really want to watch the Exorcist right now...

It really is that ugly.

I bought the standard release. While I found the Best Buy steel book a little better looking, I still don't like that at all.

Sometimes I wonder if Warner deliberately released the cover so ugly only so they can re-release it with the original art down the road.

I went for the UK edition in order to have everything on physical disc rather than guaranteed to vanish digital vapor.
Yeah? And exactly how many digital films have you purchased that “vanished”?

I “own” over 3500 films digitally and not one has ever vanished.

Isn't the issue more about streaming content that goes bye-bye?

I don't do downloads or streaming so I don't pay a lot of attention, but I'm under the impression the streaming services delete content at times.
