Somebody at WHV needs to get their act together. There is a discrepancy between the information that TVShowsonDVD.com was given to list as the cartoons in their news story and what the box art and online trailer show will be on the box set. David Lambert has wisely said that we should wait for the official press information, but after watching the trailer, I wrote down every show that was featured in the preview:
-The Jetsons -Atom Ant -Top Cat -Speed Buggy -Hong Kong Phooey -New Scooby Doo Movies -The New Adventures of Batman -Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har -Peter Potamus -Yogi's Gang -Squiddly Diddly -Roman Holidays -Super Snooper and Blabber Mouse -Space Ghost -Frankenstein, Jr. -Secret Squirrel -Quick Draw McGraw -The Impossibles -Hillbilly Bears -Precious Pupp
I would think showing Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes characters on the box art and trailer would also help sell the sets to people interested in buying them. In the 1970's, "The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour" was one of the highest rated Saturday morning shows. Why not show him and his pals on the cover?
I am excited about this release coming out. I think it's a great idea. I just wish WHV would give out the correct information on the shows so there is no more confusion about it.
i have purchased V1 and V2 for the saturday morning cartoons. However, i did not purchase the 1980 set, because it had little value for me. My era was the late 1960s up to 1978/79 when i was into other things on saturday morning.
I still crave for the box sets to be released and if i had a wish list it would be the following.
1. New adventures of Gilligan
2. Speed Buggy
3. Jabberjaw
4. Jeannie
5. Goober and the Ghost Chaser
6. Partridge Family 2200AD
7. Herculoids
8. Banana Splits
9. spacelab
10. Skatebirds.
There are few others that i would like to see released. I am still content with what i have for now with cartoons, which is about 40 different shows.
