can you change the name of the input that displays on the screen? For example if i hook my minidisc player to the TAPE input can i change the display to read MINIDISC rather than tape? Main reason for this is because i have stuff that has two inputs, one digital input for the main zone and one analog input if I want to play it in zone 2. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using a Denon 3802 and you can not change the name of the inputs. I'm not positive but I don't think this is possible on any of their other receivers.

Can't do it on the 2700 either (I sense a trend developing).

That's ok: I'm used to TV/DBS actually meaning "Minidisc digital output" even if it still says "TV/DBS" and "VCR2" actually meaning "cassette deck."

My Denon 3300 doesn't do that either, but that sure would be cool.I'd love my receiver to say Xmradio instead of vdp.
Just out of curiosity, do any receivers have that capability?

My B&K REF50 let's you rename inputs. I use to have a B&K 307 that let you rename inputs as well. I've got TV renamed "HDTV" CD is "SACD".. When i had an XBox a couple years ago i had an input named "XBOX". Nice feature apparently Denon lacks. I also had a Denon 5803 for a while..

I think my old POS Sony could do that, which made me assume my new VERY COOL 3803 could too... I was wrong.... (But I still love the Denon best).

No, the 3803 does not let you change the name.

I am confused by this. That has nothing to do with the name of the input.

Most Pioneer Elite Model's have this feature. I really wish the Denon's had this.
