Mike G - SSX Tricky has the DTS audio.
It's terrible, from what I've read. Doesn't work very well or the encoders didn't know what the hell they were doing.

I think the reason why developers don't change gameplay that much for DOA3 (and 3d fighters in general) is that they have it right. For some of us, even the best games have little issues (e.g., running or sidestepping being implemented poorly), but in general, developers have figured out how to do decent gameplay on the better 3d fighters like the DOA series.
    So if it ain't broke...?

It was I who posted about DTS 4.1 on SSX Tricky. No center channel. Also, the game in general just sounds like muck.
But it was a first try. I guess someone has to be first.

(who can't imagine a game that would benefit from the expanded bit rate of DTS, since most video game sounds are compressed to hell anyway)

Even so, while that may suck, its still their first try.
    Is the game even finished?

I had one on pre-order from ebworld.com but but called up and cancelled it a couple of days ago. I just can't get myself exited about this one.

SSX Tricky is indeed out for PS2.
    Very low-key release.

Has anyone heard about how the audio will be handled on the XBOX version of SSX Tricky?
