This can be in any capacity, cast or crew. I don't know for certain, but I think for me it's Edith Head. She was the costume designer on over 60 movies that I own or want to own.

As I am generally more familiar with casting, easily Robert DeNiro.

Alfred Hitchcok would be my offhand response.

Ewan Macgregor- he's been able to work with Peter Greenaway, Todd Haynes, Baz Luhrmann, Ridley Scott, AND got to be in Star Wars. How cool is that?

And as for behind-the-scenes, producer Christine Vachon absolutely kicks butt!

My offhand response would be Woody Allen since the qualifiers are volume and simply liking the project.

Probably Steven Spielberg. He's been involved in some way or another with at least 12 of my top 20 movies. Another one would definitely be John Williams. I can't believe the shear volume of scores he's done, amazing.

I think I've got to go with Tom Hanks. There's not much he's in that I haven't liked a lot.

I second Alfred Hitchock, an amazing director who transcended several decades in the film industry.

george's choice of Edith Head was great. I counted 48 movies I like that she worked on. (I'm sure there would be many more if I'd seen everything she worked on.) Anyway, I didn't want to reply until I found somebody who beat 48 titles. Well, I finally found the guy: makeup artist Robert J. Schiffer, who worked on 49 movies I like.
