Who would have thought one year ago what tv shows would be coming out on dvd. In full season sets no less.

-Mary Tyler Moore show
-Sanford & Son
-Jeffersons
-Star Trek:TNG (well we expected it, but not at the release
rate we are getting them)
-M.A.S.H.
-All in the Family

Now if we can get some non 70's sitcoms (ie-Babylon 5, Mission Impossible) I would be very happy.

If Night Court ever comes out it's mine! My wife would be in heaven if Golden Girls made it out.

Guys, Night Court is currently ranked [rant]145th[/rant] at TVShowsOnDVD. I would love it, too, but not enough folks are voting for it to have an impact on the folks who could put that out!
On the other hand, Quantum Leap is 12th on the list! Now that rights have returned back to Universal from the ill-fated Image deal, you never know what will happen once Universal starts getting their TV product together... :)

Sports Night is on the way. Last I heard was a scheduled november 5th release date. No extras. I don't worry too much about that, I'm just looking forward to conversations like this:
[During a bomb scare.]
Casey McCall: Is there anyone who can say anything that will make us feel like the smart thing to do is to stay in this building right now?
Dana Whitaker: In ten minutes, three and a half million people will tune in to watch the two of you on television. Many of them will be women.
Casey McCall: ...All right.
:D
Besides, I bet it'll look good next to my west-wing box-set

How about the truly great shows that just didn't make it? I'd like the complete series runs (which would really be just 2 disc sets) of such television classics as:

- The Misfits of Science
- Probe
- New Monkees (i'm not kidding)

It's definitely a remarkable change of heart for the studios. I'd love to check out more of the season sets, but my time's tight and I can't write up everything - those packages are VERY time-consuming, so I need to be selective. That's why I've restricted my focus to "Simpsons", anything "Star Trek" and "Friends" - if I'm gonna spend double-digit hours with a set, it needs to be something I really like!

If I had to pick others I'd most like to see, it'd be:

"Flintstones"
"SCTV"
"Saturday Night Live" (mainly to get the often-excellent musical acts, though)
"Small Wonder" (for a friend who loves that pathetic show!)

Like everyone else, I'd love to see "Seinfeld" too. I think this roster sums up all of the full season shows I'd be willing to sit through for reviews - others interest me but take up too much time. (Well, I'd be willing to check out shows that didn't last long, like "Pink Lady... And Jeff" - six episodes isn't too much of a hardship...)

I just wish the studios would pick up the pace on some of these seasonal box sets. It's going to be almost a full year between The Simpsons Season 1 and Season 2 sets and who knows when or if we will ever see Season 2 of All in the Family. Paramount's schedule for Star Trek:TNG would be more to my liking. I'd like to own the entire TV series of some of these before I'm drooling in a wheelchair somewhere:frowning: .
