If there's anyone who's a hardcore Apocalypse Now fan and has the Redux dvd, can you please name who apparently shot the majority of the original film's second unit footage.

I don't know if this helps, but IMDB lists the following under the heading Second Unit Director or Assistant Director:

Tony Brandt .... additional assistant director
Larry J. Franco.... second assistant director
Jerry Ziesmer.... assistant director
