Just read the specs for The Last Castle DVD from Dreamworks on the dvdfile website and there is no mention of a DTS track for this DVD.[IMG]
I find this odd that Dreamworks didn't include the DTS track on this DVD.
    Any reasons?
    Regards
    Troy

Glad to hear that The Last Castle dvd will include a DTS track !! [IMG]
I didn't see this one at the theater so I'm looking forward to seeing this one on DVD. The DTS track should be awesome during the prison breakout action scenes. Looking forward to this one.

I am looking forward to possibly getting an

    early screener of this.

I'd like to ask -- for people that have

already seen this theatrically -- is this

movie as bad as the critics made it out to be?

Actually, "bad" is a bad word. It didn't

receive awful reviews, but the expectations

    fell very short.

I saw this with my son when it was playing locally. I thought it was a good story played out nicely between Redford & Gandolfini.
The only part that irked me, was lack of a plausible explanation as to why Redford was sent to the Brig. Beyond that, a very entertaining movie that I plan on buying.
Oh, one other thing (theater releated). I walk up to the window with my 17 yr old son, order two adult tickets, and some witch, flying on a broomstick starts grilling me about buying tickets so the 17yr kid next to me (my son) can take his underage girlfriend into the flick! WTF [IMG]? I knew there's a reason why I have a $10k+ system at home.

    Ron,

I thought this was one of the more underrated movies of 2001 (Memento was likely the most underrated). The plot better than most movies these days, though it had some similar plot points from Shawshank Redemption and Lock-Up thrown in there as well. The interaction between Redford and Gandolfini was wonderful, and the message behind the movie was poignant.

My only possible scenario behind this movie not doing as well as it should was it's somewhat slow build up, and the fact that it was released just too soon after Sept. 11th, that the public may have just not been ready for this kind of movie. Who knows? At any rate, while I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, I'm not quite sure how much repeat value this movie has. With that said, it would be a shame not to give this one a try. I'm confident you will enjoy it.

I haven't seen this film yet but plan to. Anyway doesn't the Army shoot prisoners that are causing a riot or breakout? So if that is true, would there actually be a story to watch? [IMG] [IMG]
