Keep this in mind people, this picture was taken after the premiere of Patch Adams at Uptown Movie Theater. This in my apartment building. He was here along with tons of guests because they rented out the ballroom. I'm now about 5 ft.11.5 inches. And, my teeth are a bit more "fixed." So don't laugh, please..
What's weird even more is 2 people from the same movie have been in my building and one of them lives here. Lots of other famous people have been here but who cares?

Closest I have ever came to meeting a "star" is when I was 11 and in Hawaii, I ran into the Penn State college football team, and received autographs from all. This would have been in January 84 for whatever bowl game they were playing. I met them at some buffet for their team dinner. Any Penn State 83/84 players make it big? Autographs aren't in good condition at all, but maybe someone will want em?
oops, I also got a chance to see John Travolta watch his wife Kelly Preston I believe film a movie in the 80's in Kamloops BC (my hometown) at our old old courthouse.
Oh, one year I met all the BC Lions football team when they came to Kamloops to play a basketball game against the local personalities.
Ummm... I think that's it for a young Canadian guy....
Oh yeah, a friend of mine was working for CFJCTV news in Kamloops and got to interview Duchovney and Anderson while in town to shoot some episodes of X-Files in the early seasons.. apparently Duchovney is a bit of an a$$.

Wow, I feel extra special.
I sat next to Minnie Driver while having coffee on Thursday.
On a more serious note, I've met and had more enduring conversations with David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Bill Clinton, Jean Chretien, Steven Spielberg, Michael Douglas, Toni Braxton, Adam Sandler, Alyssa Milano, Jaime Presley, Ice Cube, Ricky Martin, Janet Jackson, Jane Fonda, Arnold Schwarzeneger, Britney Spears, Kenny G, everyone from Aerosmith, Puff Daddy, Michael Katzenberg, Al Pacino, the late John Candy, Reese Witherspoon, yada yada yada.
Some conversations were more enduring than others: I've been to Gillian Anderson's house, and dined with Steven Spielberg, but shared only a minute or so with Bill Clinton.
Needless to say, most of these were at orchestrated social events, not off-the-cuff run-ins. I sat next to John Candy (as a kid) on a Vancouver to Toronto air flight.

Mike F,
Enduring conversations with Britney huh, lucky bastard!! :) So is she really a virgin?
In 1987 I ran into Jobeth Williams in the hallway at the local Holiday Inn. She was here filming the made for TV movie "Murder Ordained". You know, the movie about the preacher who killed his wife and almost got away with it untill his lover killed her husband and got caught. Who says nothing exciting never happens here in Kansas.

I met some Playboy Playmates. Do they count as "celebrities?"

As for the bad rap about the characters--hey, I've seen space operas that put their emphasis on human personalities and relationships. They're called "Star Trek" movies. Give me transparent underwater cities and vast hollow senatorial spheres any day. --Roger Ebert on The Phantom Menace

I came across JC Van Damme (whoopee) and Natasha Henstridge at a strip-joint in Toronto (no joke). Didn't actually meet them because I really didn't give a crap.
They were in town filming "Maximum Risk".
It was funny seeing all the strippers mob JC Van Damme.
It was even funnier watching the clientelle (who probably just had lap-dances) surround Henstridge.

Michael Palin. He was sitting a few rows behind me on a flight from Pisa to London. I chatted with him briefly and he seemed a genuinely nice guy.

My sister and I were standing in line to get a table at Sun Hong Kong restaurant in Oakland's Chinatown. Right in front of us at a table towards the back of the restaurant sat Harvey Kietel. My sister thinks he is William Shatner(??!!) and has never seen any of his movies except for the time he appeared on Saturday Night Live. I told her who he was, and she went to ask for his autograph. He was very polite, chatted with my sister. smiled during the whole interaction, and gave her an autograph. This was when "The Piano" was out and I was telling my sister to hold onto that autograph, because if Harvey Kietel gets an Oscar nomination, it'll be worth $$$. Of course, he didn't get the nomination, but my sister still have that piece of napkin.
Then there was the time I was crossing the street in San Francisco at the intersction of Broadway and Columbus (right across from Carol Doda's old hangout). At one of the traffic island in the middle of Columbus, I was standing next to a gentleman who I knew I've seen somewhere before. Yet I can't come up with a name for that face. The light turned green and we walked away in opposite directions. After about 10 steps, I realized who I was standing next to: Robert Eugland, aka Freddy Keuger. And this was not in my dreams either.
