My friend is looking for an all in one player. Who makes a good one?
The Pioneer DV-563A is a good one. There are better ones out there, Denon comes to mind, but the Pioneer is quite a bit cheaper and offers high price/performance value. Do a search, there are several threads discussing this player.
The Denon universal players are rather costly, but are well-liked. The Pioneer 563 is the new, low-cost all-in-one alternative, but likely does not (I haven't seen/heard it myself) provide the same performance/quality as the higher-priced Denons. For just SACD and DVD-Video (no DVD-A), I'm a fan of the Philips 963, although the 963 seems surprisingly hard to find in stores (although you can find it rather easily online).
