the history channel (or was it tlc?) also had a pretty good story on the development of tv.

sarnoff was just too much of a bear for farnsworth - he ate the guy like a medium-rare steak.

both sides had breakthroughts, but, iirc, farnsworth had designed the first scanning tube (or whatever it's called) when he was just a kid. something about him drawing it on the blackboard at his school...???

anyway, it's nice to see farnsworth getting some recognition.

I won two tickets to a nice resturaunt for answering this question on WJR when I was in college, my answer was:

Philoh T. Farnsworth who invented the Cathode rayed tube. (Spelling?)

Thats what a telecommunications degree from Michigan State got me, dinner out.

I saw the same show Ted. Yeah, it was a shame what happened, but I guess that is just business. RCA was just too ruthless and unrelenting.
