The FAQ section says to use a screen size to seating ratio of 1.5. I was planning on having my seating 12 feet from the screen, which the formula would give an 8 foot width. on a 16:9 screen, this would be 104" diagonal, but some are saying that is too larger.

If you have a screen 96" or larger, can you please post on how big it is, and how far away you start your seating, and if you would prefer it to be smaller/larger.

Thanks

I use a 100" Da-lite, and I sit 13' from my screen.
The pictuer is so immursive. When I watch boxing matches on pay p/view, it's like having ring side seats, without the sweat spattering on you.
I prefer this size, but some may want a little smaller.
8 ft is quite large, but I believe you''ll be so totally engrosed in the picture you won't notice the size, except how awe dropping it is.

I have a 100" stewart film screen and I sit about 16 feet away from it. It is very comfortable to look at. I kind of wish now that I had actually gone bigger. There was suppose to be a bar at the back of the room that never got done to I moved my couch back a few feet to have perfect 7.1 surround. Now As I said I wish that I had acuta;;y gon to at least 110" if not 120".

In my oppinion, it depends on 2 things. One is the quality of the projector that you will be using and 2 if you get motion sickness. Some of the HD station can be breathtaking and you actully feel like you are there, hence the motion sickness if it is a fast moving picture.

I change the size of the screen depending on how feel that day...one of the best advantages of a white wall screen.

It goes anywhere from 8' to 10' 16:9 diagonal. I sit somewhere between 12 and 13 feet away, I can't quite remember that actual number...
