This is easily my most anticipated release, mostly because I'm dying to have an NTSC boxset of season 3 in my grubbly little hands.

I just hope that we get better quality than the R2 PAL versions. I have both Season 1 and 2 sets and the quality leaves a LOT to be desired--I know it's not the conversion from PAL to NTSC either, as my Season 2 Sopranos set looks very good.

Just remember that first and second season Buffy is very grainy. They shot in low light on 16mm, so don't expect Farscape quality here

The picture for Buffy Season 1 is not great and could have done with some work on it (like the Evil Dead DVD) Season 2 is slightly better but not much.
The picture quality for the Season 3 episodes on Region 2 DVD however is a vast improvement over the previous seasons. I have only watched a couple of episodes but there is a big difference.
Can't wait for anamorphic Season 4 in March

I can't wait for "Buffy The Vampire Slayer The Complete Third Season" to come out ! [IMG] Three more weeks !
Pro-R2 shameless plug aside, the video quality of the first 2 seasons is average at best (not a compression problem, rather a problem with the masters)
    Two months for Angel (

Jeff: DVD Times mentioned that it would be. I just sifted through numerous pages of the Eternal Buffytastic thread to find the link, but ... http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/index.cgi?page=News&id=2149 It's still falling squarely under 'rumour' territory, but they'd been accurate with the sets up to that point, so my confidence isn't terribly shaken.
It says 'widescreen' anyway. I can't imagine that Fox would put non-anamorphic widescreen Buffy on DVD.

Interesting since you mentioned widescreen. This week's Angel was in widescreen ala E.R. No special mention of it though when it started like ER does it.

This entire season of Angel has been and will be in widescreen. I don't recall any special note before the season premiere, which was nice.
