Help! I just bought a Philips Pixel Plus 29" 4:3 TV. Whenever I do a anamorphic squeeze on the TV, a white line appears on the top of the picture. For 1.77:1 movies, this line is exactly on the border of the picture and the upper black bar. In movies with larger aspect ratios, this white line is very obvious and distracting. Is there anything I can do to eliminate the white line other than calling the Philips Service Centre?

If the TV has a built-in squeeze mode, a tech can probably adjust the blanking parameters and eliminate the line.

If you are doing a 'manual' squeeze in the service menu, you might be able to adjust the blanking parameter yourself. But Philips would not approve of any of what you are doing and you ought to be quiet about it.
