Thought this was perfect...
Friend sent it re: Abbott & Costello.
Thanks for sharing, Mr. Harris, and making me laugh out loud at work!
As luck would have it, Vin Scully was calling that game. And he handled that moment as only he could...
Unfortunately, I can't find video of the moment.
^ Maybe it's because I've had those same thoughts (in a far less articulate way) but I think that's a great piece. It's a very accurate assessment of today's audiences, movies, studios and even society.
Yeah i gotta say i was watching the new trailer for Pacific Rim, all i could think was that it looked like a video game and not a film, maybe it will be great but it looked like it was a CGI fest, i love Guillermo del Toro's Spanish films, for me Pan's Labyrinth is a masterpiece and i even enjoyed the Hellboy films but Pacific Rim looks more video game than film, hopefully i am wrong on that as usually del Toro injects interesting things into his films.
A second post in a row to ask a question;
Did i kill the thread or is it just in intensive care. ?
Needs some more bagels.
I'll provide the beer if you provide the bagels.
I was in the bathroom, what did I miss?
The three of you just made me laugh so hard. Moe in particular...your timing was just perfect.
Oh, and it's nice to see a modern director exposing and criticizing the abomination (IMO) that Hollywood has become.
Ahh, the comedy rule of "three" in action
Be sure to hit the PLAY button and watch all the way through.
Seems like the Aurens video game can't be far away -
But if Michael Korda's involved maybe it's promising . . .
