Which widescreen RPTV is made in Japan? (1 Viewer)

Or which ones are not made in Mexico? My friend and I are both shopping for 2002 model rptvs. So far we understand the Hitachi and Mitsubishi are both made in Mexico. I am not overly concerned with this. But he likes to buy all his gear 'Made in Japan'.

Anyone know where the Pioneer Elite rptv or the Panasonic 53 inch rptv is made?

The more appropriate term is "assembled in Mexico"

No CRT based RPTV's from the major makers come complete off the boat from Japan. Not cost effective to ship all that wood and plastic across the ocean.
