    Hi everyone,
I am in the process of selecting a 50" rear projection TV, either DLP or LCD.
If I go with LCD I have it locked down with Sony.
I am leaning toward DLP and I really like the look of the Toshiba set. I am also considering Samsung and Mitsubishi.
How do these sets compare? Does DLP still have quality control issues? How bad is the high pitch noise from the color wheel that I keep hearing about?

I like the new Samsung DLPs. They have improved drastically over the last 2 years. The noise of the color wheel is not apparent in the new models but time will tell. Also, look at the new JVC, HD-52Z575. It has simular technology to the Sony and Toshiba. The term JVC uses is HD-ILA, a tri-colored chip design. Whichever one you buy, be happy. I'll be jealous.
