All of the Star Trek series (except the cartoon) (well, maybe) Simpsons Farscape Futurama (actually, I already have all those) Twin Peaks (and I damn well better be able to one day) The Prisoner The Addams Family (also damn well better etc.)
I Spy - DONE Land of the Lost - DONE Dick Van Dyke - DONE Soap Doctor Who Friends - because of the extended footage Seinfeld - because of the extended footage Get Smart
Laverne and Shirley (They sure are taking their time releasing this series) All in the Family Three's Company Everybody Loves Raymond Dead Like Me (Curse them for cancelling that show) Little House on the Prarie DangerMouse (animated)
When they're released in the future: Rosanne Mama's Family Desinging Women Second Noah (I think it only lasted one season) The George Lopez Show Recess (animated) Jimmy Neutron (animated)
Noah lasted two seasons. That's one I'd buy all seasons of too. Of titles I've started, I plan on owning every season of these shows, assuming they'll continue to be released:
24 American Dreams Brady Bunch Degrassi Junior High Degrassi: The Next Generation Flintstones Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Good Times Homicide: Life on the Street I Love Lucy Joan of Arcadia Saved by the Bell: The New Class Soap Sopranos, The Three's Company What's Happening!!
I agree with Casey, once I start buying season sets, I'm in it for the whole run.
Already Completed Sets:
The Lone Gunmen Star Trek: TOS
Sets with only one more season to go:
Wonder Woman (Announced for June 7th, 2005) Gilligan's Island (Announced for July 26th, 2005) Crime Story (Announced for Sept 20th, 2005) Munsters (Supposedly Halloween) Starsky & Hutch
Sets with only two more seasons to go:
Knight Rider (Season 3 in December, 2005)
Current production shows & releases to this point:
Alias Arrested Development CSI CSI:Miami Las Vegas Monk Reno 911!
And a plethora of other shows that have three or more releases to go...too many to mention!
Although I would be remiss if I didn't include M*A*S*H with 8 seasons released, season 9 announced for December, 2005 and only 2 more seasons left for hopefully a 2006 release!
There are too many to mention, but I am close to completing a couple series:
Friends (just need Season 10 and Joey) Homicide (Season 7 and the movie) Persuders (box 2) Due South (season 4) Angel (season 3&4) Buffy (seasons 5-7) Monty Python (last two boxes) Avengers (I have all the Emma Peel, I'd like to get all the Lind Thornton & New Avengers) SCTV (all episoded before and after the 3 sets available) Kids in the Hall (S3 and beyond)
I will buy all the Pete&Pete, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, and Hogan's Heroes, but so far only season 1 are in print.
I have a lot of series where all the shows were contained in a single volume, like Ben Stiller, Late Line, Hitchhiker's Guide, and Lone Gunmen. And I have all of The Prisoner, Tenacious D and Mr. Show (I wish there were more).
Not to piss anyone off, but I am finding it easy to pick up used copies of season sets for about 65% off after they've been in print for a month or so. I will buy season 10 of Friends the day it comes out, but I would rather spend $40 than $90 on Homicide or the Persuaders. I'll also probably pick up the rest of Combat used.
Combat Baa Baa Blacksheep Prisoner The Saint Secret Agent Man Rockford Files Spenser Have Gun Will Travel Wanted Dead or Alive Andy Griffith Show Maverick 77 Sunset Strip Surfside Six Hawaiian Eye Bourbon Street Beat Cheyenne Daniel Boone Honey West Burkes Law Yancy Derringer Bat Masterson The Rebel Rawhide Laramie Sky King Mannix The Invaders
I just got season 3 of CSI for $20 today. So I'm not one of those you'd be pissing off with that remark, I have 0 problem saving a buck or 2 or 10 here and there.
Good question, Tom. I've wondered that myself. And I want to come over and hang out with a few you because I've never met a single person who loves TV as much as me.
Yesterday I decided I might buy the entire series of Gilmore Girls on DVD because I've been catching a rerun here and there and I'm enjoying it as much the 2nd time around as the first.
How do I get through everything? No idea although in actuality I am behind on my TV on DVD watching, but that's why I'm in the HTF TV on DVD chalenge for 2005.
The thing is though that TV on DVD makes good background noise, so I can watch a few episodes of something while doing other work, or cleaning up around the apartment and I always try to watch something as I'm falling to sleep.
I also don't watch a lot of regular over-the-air Television, if I watch something its more than likely a sporting event...the only reason I have digital cable is for Pay Per View, and the NFL Network and the ESPN family of channels.
But for those curious to see my list anyway... I will complete all of the following, eventually...I hope Adventures of Pete and Pete Alf All in the Family The Andy Griffith Show Aqua Teen Hunger Force The Bob Newhart Show The Brak Show Cheers Dark Angel (just have season 1 right now) Everybody Loves Raymond Family Guy (new episodes mean new DVDs) The Flintstones Frasier Friends Garfield and Friends The Golden Girls Good Times Green Acres Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law Home Improvement In Living Color The Jeff Foxworthy Show The Jeffersons King of the Hill The King of Queens M*A*S*H Malcolm in the Middle (if they ever release season 2 and beyond) The Mary Tyler Moore Show Married...with Children Mork and Mindy The Munsters Murphy Brown New Scooby-Doo Movies: (if they ever put out a volume 2) Night Court Rocky & Bullwinkle and Friends Sanford and Son SCTV Network 90 Sealab 2021 Seinfeld The Simpsons South Park Space Ghost Coast to Coast Star Wars: Clone Wars Taxi Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles That 70s Show threes Company Unsolved Mysteries What's Happening!!!
Series I've already completed: Clerks Uncensored The Critic Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines The Dick Van Dyke Show Dilbert Futurama The Office (UK) Sports Night Wacky Races
The list of shows I want to start collecting but haven't yet. Boy Meets World The Cosby Show Dragnet '67 Fresh Prince of Bellaire Giligan's Island Happy Days NewsRadio A Pup Named Scooby-Doo Rosanne Third Rock from the Sun Top Cat and those are just the ones that I know for sure are hitting DVD sometime soon if they aren't already out.
Haven't watched CSI yet but that might end up on the list as well...if not it will be sold.
I should note that I tend to buy more TV on DVD than I do films anymore there are less and less films coming out that I want.
The Brady Bunch Get Smart Bewitched (the Dick Sargent years) Adam 12 Mister Ed I Dream Of Jeannie The Adventures Of Superman (50's series) Wings Seinfeld
