Which Tivo model is the best/easiest to upgrade HD? (1 Viewer)

I am looking at purchasing a Philips or Sony Tivo unit. I'm not too fond of Philips quality and have always been partial to Sony electronics but I can't get past the silver color of the Sony unit (all the rest of my components are black). It would stick out like a sore thumb. Also, I was hearing the the Philips 20-hour unit is the best one to do the hardware upgrade. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks

I've had a Sony 30-hour unit for well over a year. I have been very pleased with it. I upgraded it earlier this year and didn't have any problems. I don't think there is a whole lot of difference between the philips and sony hardware.
As far as sticking out like a sore thumb... It catches the eyes of guests who ask, "what is that?" Then it gives me the perfect opportunity to give a demo of the unit and it's capabilities. There are a number of new and happy Tivo owners out there that first learned of it from one of those demos.

I just upgraded my Phillips HDR212 (20 hour) to 145 hours this morning without any problems.
For upgrades, the hardware doesn't matter too much at the moment. However, if you purchase a unit with two hard drives, it makes things a touch more complicated.
I haven't heard any comments about Sony vs. Phillips for reliability or actual hardware issues. I've been using my Phillips for a few months and had no problems (wanted to make sure everything checked out before breaking the warranty seal).
