Hello All,

Are the internal test tones on my Denon 3801 as accurate as the sound & vision disc test tones? Any input would be greatly appreciated,THANKS!

probably not at all. if you have the disc, use it for sure. if not, consider getting one. i bought sound and vision home theater tune up because its $17 instead of $40. my kenwood receiver output tone for the subwoofer was about 8 dB louder than the sub tone on the disc.

The advantage of using a source from your dvd player is that you are calibrating through the dvd player, interconnect to the receiver, and from the input of the receiver through the output. The receiver signals are injected in the middle somewhere.
