I'm thinking about picking up a CyberPower Broadband Surge Protector.

I need one to work with my cable modem. This CyberPower model # 890 is the only surge protector I've seen lately that has coaxial connectors. The packaging doesn't really say anything about using it with cable modems, and the coaxial inputs have EMI/RFI Filtration.
Will the filtration slow down my connection? Is this safe choice for a broadband surge, or are there better cable modem surge protectors around the $50 range?

Any quick thoughts/opinions? I know little on the subject of "surge protectors" and just want to make sure that this piece of equipment is not pure crap. Once again, mainly worried if it will slow my connection speed.
