I'm in the mood to calibrate my system since I've never done it before and I've been reading on here about the Radio Shack SPL meter. I hear everyone mention the analog one but up here in Toronto, Canada the only one that Radio Shack has is the digital one. Is there any real difference between the two? Could I get by with the digital one?

I had the choice of both and went with the digital. It was easy to use and set up. The readout is large enough to be seen from a distance. This helped as I moved speakers around my room while monitor the level at my viewing area.

Jose, you can use either one. I own the analog simply because it was cheaper and I'm tied to the old ways and still like to see a needle jittering - same way when I get on a scale [IMG] But you should be able to do everything you need to do with the digital one.
    have fun calibrating,

Thanks for the info guys. I'll head to my local RS this week to pick up the digital one. [IMG]
