which spkr connections on a 7.1 system witth a 5.1 setup..HELP ! (1 Viewer)

o.k I took back my htr-5660 and got the htr-5760 that just came out, very sweet, it has on screen display, 110x7 watts as opposed to 85x6,ypao mic system, dolby PLx and a few more features, glad I cought this before my 30 days was up same price receiver.


My question is....do i hook my surrounds to the receivers surround back speaker jacks or surround speaker jacks ?

i think if its a 5.1 setup you should hook your surrounds to the reciever surround speaker jacks and you should set the rear surround speakers to off, if its a 7.1 setup you have then the surround speakers connect to the reciever surround speakers jack the the 2 rear guys connect to the reciver surround back speaker jacks

To the side surround outputs. And make sure you have the proper speakers set on/off in the setup menu.
