I just purchased my receiver a Yamaha rx-v363 I am currently planning on buying Klipsch quintet III surround sound speakers and klipsch subwoofer. Since I just bought the receiver, I am wondering if there is a better speaker for my theater set up. Oh yeah I have a sony Lcd Dlp projector on a 100" wide screen that this will be connecting to through HDMI. This is purely my Movie room. thanks for you input

Okay I really do like the sound of the Bose speakers but I'm looking for something a little cheaper, also the klipsch sound good as well. Okay when it comes to a subwoofer comparable to the Klipsch 10" woofer what would that be?

If you like the sound of Bose, then I don't know if there is any hope for you.

Audition as many speakers as possible and pick the ones that sound good to YOU and fit your budget as well as your other requirements.

A sub comparable to the Klipsch? Any overpriced, big box retail sub should fit that bill. If you want a real sub go internet direct.

If you like the sound of Bose, by all means, buy them. After all, they are your ears. However, I suggest you listen to other speakers first. And you absolutely have to take your own demo movies and music. The Bose demo is 'rigged' to sound a certain way. Its like listening to mp3s on cheap headphones... It sounds good, but try the same mp3 on a good system and it sounds like crap (both Bose and mp3 compresses the sound).

Cool thanks for you insight. Also what do you think of the Klipsch speakers?

I LOVE Klipsch speakers but I don't like them hooked up to a Yamaha reciever. I find them to be too bright and harsh.

Again, it is not what we think of Klispch, it is what you think of them. I personally do not like them. Others here love them. Other than Bose and other obvious rip offs, you won't get a consensus answer on speakers. Too personal.

It seems to me that you are on a major budget considering you want to go with something like the Klipsch quintet III. But perhaps your audio budget isn't high enough comparred to your video budget? In any regards, here are a couple recommendations that will get you FAR more audio performance on the dollar.

Sub - eD a2-250 - Will beat the pants off any big brand sub. (I personally own the A3-300 and it is very powerful)
Elemental Designs

Mains - A6 - 6T6s
Elemental Designs

Center - A6 - 6T6
Elemental Designs

eD doesn't make the BEST stuff, but they make very good stuff, with great prices, great value, and great service. They also ship their subs for free which also helps the wallet a bit. It's tough however to pick speakers that you haven't listend to. EIther way, these here will devour your Klipsch or bose ideas.
