    Have a family room that's 20 ft x 27 ft x 9 ft ceiling-
Putting in 7.1 surround sound for Home Theater (mostly) and music.
For the fronts, I'm going with Ascend Acoustics CMT340SE (left and right) and CMT340SECC (center channel). I'm going to use an SVS 12 (PB12NSD or SB12Plus). I have to use "in-ceiling" speakers for sides and rear (no choice).

Question: I was going to go with 8" woofers (for all 4) - however, someone recommended 6.5" woofers saying that the 6.5" would give wider dispersion (speakers are RBH as Ascend said these would work well with their speakers).

Can anyone comment on the size of the ceiling speakers - I was leaning toward the 8" but . . .

IMHO, it's not going to make much difference. Whichever you choose you are going to wonder what the other would have sounded like. If it was me, I would go with your gut decision, which was the 8 inch.
