I have a large DVD collection and having combed through it have found some duplicates. Mostly director's cuts and theatrical editions. I'd like your input on which duplicates to keep and which to pass on.

Battlestar Galactica Season One vs. Battlestar Galactica 2003 Miniseries
    Gladiator vs. Gladiator Extended Edition
Kingdom of Heaven vs. Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut
Sin City vs. Sin City Director's Cut
All of the LOTR vs. LOTR EE
    X-Men vs. X-Men 1.5

I have an idea to hold on to both versions of Lord of The Rings, the others I'm not sure if they double up on the theatrical release or if it's even worth it. Thanks in advance guys.

    Personal opinion:

Ditch the BSG mini in favor of S1.
Ditch the original X-Men for 1.5.

I have both the theatrical and EE editions of LOTR just because I am obsessive compulsive/totally anally retentive like that.

If you're a true fan of GLADIATOR, keep both the Signature Selection and the Extended Edition. I have. Makes it a "5-Disc" Edition in a sense. So just own both even though they're different packaging.[IMG]

Agreed, keep the old Gladiator. It has an excellent DTS soundtrack and an entirely different array of commentaries and supplements. Indeed, I'm still not sure why they bothered to keep the theatrical cut on the Extended Edition...it's the only thing that's redundant across the two. I guess because it's Ridley's preferred cut.

Get rid of the BSG mini and its included on the season 1 set.

Which I still haven't got even though I love the show. Gotta get them soon though.

I'd keep the extended cut of Sin City and ditch the original DVD release. The theatrical version is included in the extended set, plus the extended set has a wealth of extras unlike the original release. [IMG]

Actually, if you care about extras you'll want to keep all of them except the original Sin City release. Each one of those discs has exclusive extras that were not carried over to the second release except for Sin City.

Give someone Battlestar Galactica Mini and X-Men. Keep everything else.

Keep only the 2-disc version of both, since the single-disc editions are the same, but have less extras.
