    Hey Everyone,

I'll be moving into a new home soon and need to begin the painstaking process of researching RPTVs. Seeing as how I don't have too much time, I wanted to know which RPTV manufacturer has the best consistency throughout their entire product line, Mits, Toshiba, Hitachi, Sony, Panasonic, others? BTW, I have around $2500 to spend, so feel free to recommend whatever in that price category. I recently set up a buddy's 55" Mits and thought that the picture was good and that the set up was nice and easy, but I wanted to see what the experts thought.

    Thanks!

    About $2500.

Seriously, the word on the street is that the SD533HD5 is last year Elite model in a less dressy case. The current Elite has:

    Shiny lacquered case
    Better deintelacer
    Non-reflective screen
    DVI inputs

Other than Pioneer, judging by researching at various forums including one that has brand-specific forums I think the most consistent brands are probably Mits and Sony, both being about
equal, followed pretty closely by Toshiba then Hitachi and Panny.

This is assuming one's definition of consistency is that the majority of a brand's individual sets will look pretty much the same as other individual sets of the same make with the same settings, not necessarily that one brand is the closest to the overall ideal.

An example is Mits from a year or two ago. They all looked pretty much the same but all had a lot of red push.
