ok, ive posted and posted questions about a lot of different receivers on this board...and thanks for all the help.
But ive heard many good things about each one.
Now ill just ask the simple question:
New or used, it doesnt matter to me, whats the best receiver I can buy for around $400?
I can get the Denon881, or maybe the onkyo 595. Im just not sure.
Id like to have pre-outs for amps.
Any ideas anyone? Im kinda lost here.
Also, I saw teh Pioneer Elite VX33(or something like that) for around $350.
Thanks in advance

Anthony,
Have you listened to any of the suggestions yet?
This is the most important part of making your purchase, especially receivers (pre/pro amp combos) and speakers.
Your next step should be to the local B&M stores in your area. Listen to everything you can get your ears on and try to match your speakers with your new receiver.
The optimum situation would be an in home audition, however it may be tough at this price point.
It does sound like you have a good list to start with.
Good Luck
Jeremy

I just got a Pioneer VSX-D709S from them for $199. It's factory refurb but it looks and acts brand new. I'm using it as my bedroom receiver.

I've seen the Denon AVR2800 and 2801 for $399 as they close them out for the arrival of the 2802. The 2800 was excellent, better than the Onkyo 676, although I haven't listened to the 2801. And I've heard that used 3300's are going for $350-400 on E-Bay. I love mine, and plan to keep it for another couple of years before I upgrade to something with (hopefully) Firewire. I guess some of the mid-run models had problems with the cooling fans, so be careful.
