I recently bought the Yamaha HTR-5660 at Best Buy. Today I went to Circuit City and bought a few DVD-A and SACD discs for my Denon DVD-2200, and I decided to look at the receivers and I saw the Pioneer VSX-D912K. I am wondering if the Yamaha HTS-5660 is better than the Pioneer VSX-D912K?

Asking if a receiver is better is kind of like asking of speaker set A is better than B. Its all relative to how YOU like it. If someone things that a set of $0.60 speakers sound better than their neighbors $10,000 HT, then thats their ears. You should listen with the speakers you have and compare.

I can say that I like every thing about my pioneer vsx-d912k. I got mine for $300 from 6ave.com when they had them and I thought that was a steal for everything that this receiver does.

CNet has a bunch of good reviews for the pioneer receiver as well.
