Maybe this belongs on Polls but I have a question. In my fantasy football league I have two QB: Brett Favre as my main guy and Drew Bledsoe for backup.
Who should I start this week?
Favre has Detroit visiting Green Bay. However Bledsoe and the Patriots are playing at the Cincinatti Bengals. How will get me more points this week?

You have to look at two things... the oppenent and the QB's team. Does Bledsoe have any weapons at his disposal? What about Favre? Who is the better QB at putting up numbers despite his opposition (Favre). That being said:
What about my choise between Jeff George (proven scorer) and Matt Hasselbeck (who looked really damned good in the preseason!)

Jin,
I thought you were getting rid of George! :)
That said, I'd start Favre and George. While New Englad at Cincinnati looks attractive for Bledsoe, a) he doesn't have anyone to throw to, and b) despite the absence of Justin "Don't worry, Bengal fans, I won't hold out" Smith, the Cincinnati D isn't the real problem there...
I'll echo Brian's comments on Hasselbeck. He's most likely the real deal, but I'd give him a looksee before starting him.

Hasselback is questionable at best for right now. Dilfer is a proven, though not accurate, QB. You will want to go with George for now. Let Matt get a few games under his belt. Between Farve and Bledsoe, it is a tossup but I'd go with Bledsoe simply because the Bungels have no defense. Farve's got a cannon for an arm but will his receivers be able to hold onto the ball against the Lion's D?

Dave,
The Lions secondary is very banged up -- safety Kurt Schultz and CB Bryant Westbrook are out, while safety Ron Rice and backup CB Robert Bailey are questionable. Besides, the Lions rarely play well in Green Bay. I would definitely start Favre.
Of course, Culpepper is my fantasy QB, so I'm looking for big numbers against a weak Carolina team. I'll need them -- my opponent has Kurt Warner and Torry Holt.

You guys nailed my plan on the head. I'm starting George and seeing what Hasselbeck has to offer (just like I did with Garcia last year). Around week 4-5 Garcia really turned it on and I scored a boat load of points with him and Terrel Owens. Hopefully I can repeat the feat with Hasselbeck and Jackson!

I have McNabb (vs. STL) and Farve (vs. DET). I'm starting McNabb.
My real problem is at running back. I have Jamal Anderson, Emmitt Smith and Michael Pittman (bye). I'm staring Jamal and Emmitt, but Emmitt is going against Tampa Bay.

Sucks to be Dallas this week. If Pittman wasn't on a bye week, would you still start Emmitt?

Wow. I never expected to get fantasy football advice at the home theater forum. Here are my dilemmas for week 1 in my money league.
Running Back (can only start two)
Marshall Faulk (always start)
Ricky Williams (always start)
Warrick Dunn (always start when facing Dallas)
At this point, I have RW on the bench, but I still expect him to put up some big yards. Dunn ripped the Cowboys for 210 yds back in December. How could I bench that?
Third Wide Receiver
Peter Warrick (vs. New England)
James Thrash (vs. Aeneas Williams and the Rams)
For now, I'm starting Warrick.
Defense
Denver (new stadium, MNF, Ray Rhodes, injured Giants)
Tennessee (it's the freakin' Titans, start them)
Maybe I'm being a homer, but I have the Broncos listed to start.
Any thoughts?
For the curious, the remainder of my team is as follows:
QB: McNabb, B. Johnson
RB: D.McCallister (insurance pick)
WR: M. Muhammed, T. Gonzalez, T. Taylor, F. Jones, C. Bradford (tight ends count as wide receivers in my league)
K: M. Stover

FYI, Michael Pittman will be serving a one game suspension after Arizona's bye, and he cannot practice with the team. In fact, he will be spending a couple of days in jail during the suspension for a domestic abuse incident. Also, Thomas Jones won the starting RB spot for the Cardinals. I have Jones on my bench -- if he stinks or loses his starting spot, he'll be waiver wire fodder.

Wow, you're in for a long season. :) Each of those QBs are not even in the top 10, and it would not suprise me if Beldsoe was benched before week 6.
You may want to try to pickup some backup QB like Vick or something so that when Chandler is injured and out in week 3, you have a shot at a QB steal.

I actually think Favre is a decent starting fantasy QB if you decided to go after running backs first in your draft. He never misses a start, puts up decent numbers, and has a few quality skill position players to work with.
As for Bledsoe, I doubt that the Patriots will be benching someone they just signed to a $100 million contract. Drew is a good QB stuck in a terrible offense -- no running back and only one marginal NFL-quality receiver (Troy Brown). Benching him will not solve New England's troubles. I wish Bledsoe was on the Lions instead of our current starting QB. Batch is a 2nd string NFL QB at best.

Well it didn't really matter. In my league both guys got 25 points. However it looks like I'll stay with Favre. At least I didn't have Jeff George starting (like one guy in my league did.)

QB and WR don't get a lot of points the way our scoring is set up. (Favors running instead of passing.) Hopefully Bledsoe can stay on through week 8 when GB/Favre has their bye.

Damned CBS-Sportline ghost who picked Jeff George (and Philly D) for me in the 2nd and 3rd rounds!!!!! My offense this week:
66 passing yards
38 rushing yards (1TD)
204 receiving yards
36 total points (25 of those by PhillyD and Tony Richardson)
I'm going to wait till after week 2 before I hit the panic button. I hope Todd Heap will keep up his good performance form the TE spot.
