I have finally decided on Marantz. Thanks for all your help!

Here are my choices. Locally, I can get the ..200 series discounted why the ..300 series is coming soon.

    My choices are
    SR-8200 - $1,100
    SR-7200 - $650
or pay between $900-$1000 for the forthcoming SR-7300

The discounts on the 8200/7200 are great and locally from an authorized dealer.

I am leaning towards the 8200 as I can get it now for only a $100 more than the forthcoming 7300. Will the 7300 offer much more?

    Thanks,
    Jim

Many of the features that the 7300 has over the 7200 are already contained in the 8200, go for the 8200.

The 8200 will still have better amplification.

I'd go for the 8200. It's in a separate class from the 7200 in terms of build and sound quality. I would assume that the 7300 has the same build quality of the 7200 but with more features.

Plus, according to pictures i have seen, the 8200 is made in Japan, while the 7200 is made in China (as i assume the 7300 will also be)

I am in the same stituation, i can pick up the 8200 for $1100 - $1200 or wait for 8300 this spring. Any major reason to wait for the 8300?

James, That is a great price on the Marantz 8200. I have one and I am very happy with it. When you get it and listen to movies on DTS or AC-3, Do it in the "DIRECT" mode instead of the "Auto mode" It just sounds incredible. The Direct mode takes the sound a step beyond.
The 8200 is very well made and if you like listening to music every once in a while, you are in for a special treat.
    Good luck.

James [Wilson], you are lucky. My local dealer wants $1600 for the 8200, and acts like someone is robbing him if he sells it for $1300-1400.

I purchased the 8200 today for $1,100. It was the dealers last one so he can't help you. However, there is a place in Charlotte with them on sale for $1,300. If you want the info let me know.

I saw the 7300 last week. For real, I would seriously consider it over the 7200, the 8200, and even my H/K 520.

The unit has the new CSII allowing for 6.1 sourcing. It has all the other Toys and Wheels, other than THX.

    Very very very nice unit.

Then again, there's the H/K 325 and 525 on the way.
