which speakers do you think are better. cmt 340 se mains or B&W 602.5

I have never heard the cmt 340 se, but my B&W 602.5 S2 speakers sound fantastic in my HT system. I once owned the shrieking tweeter paradigm Monitor 7's.....glad they are gone!!

I liked the Ascends. The B&W 600 series really doesnt do it for me. I think the Ascends are more detailed.

I've been considering the 340SE speakers as well.

Between these 2, which would generally be considered to have more low end punch? Not extension, but impact. Both go plenty low for me since I'm using a good sub.

The punchy frequencies are in the 50-60 hz range. These frequencies should be sent to your sub so IMO the mains will not matter as much for that.
