    Hey,

Close to buying a subwoofer for my carpeted living room. I'm wondering whether the carpeting might make it better for me to have a front-firing or bottom-firing sub.

    Thanks,
    Rob

It shouldn't have any affect at all.

It doesn't matter due to the lenght of the sound waves coming from the sub.

I think the only way it might make a difference is if your carpeting was touching the downfiring speaker. Or if your front firing speaker has a bottom port and the carpeting blocked it. This assumes you have thick/high carpeting. [IMG]
