Which is best for playing CD's (1 Viewer)

Santa brought me an Onkyo HTIB & an Onklo 6 disc DVD player for xmas. I guess I have been a good boy this year!!! My questions is do CD's sound better when played on a CD player than on a DVD player? I have a Samsung single disc DVD player w/component & digital hookups, but not progressive scan. I am thinking of returning the Onklo DVD & buying a CD player. What do you think? Your comments would be appreciated. Merry Xmas to all.........

This varies depending on the quality of the players. Generally, similarly-priced CD players will outperform DVD players for CD, since the emphasis is mostly on video. However, listening is the only way to know.
