Which HDTV to buy? Hitachi or Sony? Advice? (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm thinking on buying a 60" LCD rear projection and wonder which one is better...Hitachi Ultravision Digital 60V500, or a 60" Sony Grand Vega LCD Rear Projection KF60WE610. (Thinking Plasma/LCD just doesen't give you the size yet for the price). Are these TV's the top of the line? Salesman says so...

Hitachi has a great reputation for reliability.

I saw these 2 TV's side by side at a local retailer and they are both great sets. However, when viewing broadcast programming, the Hitachi was superior IMO when modifying the 4:3 picture to fit the screen. I also kind of think that Sony is a bit overrated.

And as far as Toshiba goes, I have had 2 CRT Toshibas for the past 14 years with zero problems and my inlaws have a Toshiba HDTV that I like a lot.
