In need of a new DVD player my Sony quit.
Looking to spend $200-$250, anything but a Sony.
    Any recommendations.
    Thanks

Spend a little bit more and get a Denon DVD-1600. At Crutchfield its $329, but you can use a $20 coupon to reduce the price. You won't be sorry, its way better than any cheaper model out there now!

I have to second don's opinion. Denon is the way to go! However if you have a little more money, get the denon 3800 refurb....$450. brand new around 1200. With any denon product you won't be sorry with the money that you spend![IMG]

If your tv has DVI input then you want the Bravo D1 which has DVI out.

The 1600 has a great deinterlacer, but the improvement is really only noticeable on dvds that are video based (tv series) and not film based.
