I'm struggling with which HDTV decoder to go with. I would like directv to boot, but no sales people have been able to answer this.
My current video system is a Runco 991RP with a Faroudja DVP 3000 video processor. I convert most everything to 720 which works well with the Runco. I'd like to add HD, but it seems that non of the Sat/HD decoders will pass through a native 720 signal. I can live with 1080i, but what I really want to avoid is the onboard line processors on the decoders. I'd like to watch native 1080i for HD sources, but for non-HD, I want to use the Faroudja to do the conversion.
Will the current Sat/HD decoders fully bypass their inboard line processors?
Thanks in advance!
Chad

I don't know about DirecTV, but the Dish 6000 receiver outputs both 720p and 1080i, selectable by setup menu.
