I recently bought a DVD-V/DVD-A player and want to hook it up via the 6 channel analog inputs on my surround receiver. What type of cables would be best for this connection? Also, should I be mindful of 50 ohm vs. 75 ohm impedance levels in these cables?

I use 6 Homegrown Silver Silver IC's for my Tosh 9200 into an Outlaw 950. Since the signal is analog, 75-ohm digital cables are not necessary, as far as I know.

You need to buy RCA analog cables. Unless you have real expensive gear, you don't need to buy super expensive cabling here. Try the AR's found at Best Buy. Or, if you want to move up a bit, both Rhino and Blue Jeans offer very nice stuff for a very reasonable price. If you want to move up even further, I recommend CatCable. But really, unless your gear is super nice, there isn't that much difference many would notice.
