Which audio mode plays 7.1 channels on the Sony Str-DA4ES?

As a guess, I would think none play 7.1

You're likely to get 6.1 on the rears in DD-EX and DTS-ES (matrix or discrete) and DTS Neo-6

As for the rest...

I dunno, but I'll bet most are 5.1 at best.
