There are so many public domain editions of the first film produced by John Wayne, but how's the quality? The version aired by TCM was pristine and beautiful. I'd like to buy a DVD version at least that good.

Cover art on The Roan Group's DVD looks pretty good, but how's the quality of the transfer.

    Anyone know?

I'm very happy with my Goodtimes version. It's right on par with my older Republic 45th anniversary Laserdisc transfer, which also was great.

Richard (and Jim too), I'm wondering about your impressions on the Good Times Angel and the Badman. I was just looking at Amazon.com and the Good Times version is only $4.95, while the Roan edition is $18. Is it really a case of the cheaper version being the superior version? Some of the other amazon reviewers said the Good Times is the better version also.

    Thanks

Another vote for the Goodtimes edition from me. The quality's pretty good for PD.

Thanks Dave. Great news for only $5.
