When I shut down Windows XP, I don't even have the option to go into "StandBy" mode, which means I can't even go into "Hybernate" mode. I'm not sure, but I think this may have something to do with my computer's manufacturer disabling it. Does anybody know how I can override this?

    Thanks!

You have Hibernation enabled in the Power Options control panel?

No, unfortunately, I don't even have the option of selecting Hibernation in Power Options.

Right click on your desktop. Select properties for display properties. Select Screen Saver. Select Power. Select Hibernation tab. Uncheck "enable hibernation".

You can now delete hibernation.fil on your next reboot.
