    Hey all,
My old reciever is in need of an upgrade and I am looking to spend about $500 for a new one. Where should I start looking? Any good web resources? Any models or companies I should consider or stay away from?
    Thanks,
    Ajay

Your best resource if you're starting from scratch is to pick up this year's edition of Sound & Vision's annual equipment guide and check out all the receivers listed in the $500 range. And, of course, running a search here at HTF is another option.
