Where to put my TV...? (1 Viewer)

I'm a home theater noob, but since I registered here I got real into home theater (I had already been collecting DVD's). I just bought my first RPTV, a Toshiba 57H83!

It'll be at my house on Thursday - however...

There are 2 places in my front room where I can put the TV. One is directly in front of a window, one is to the left of the window.

not the best diagram, I know (= equals carpet)
__________
===(1)==== ------Fireplace, corner not an option

===========|
========(2)} ----- Window
===========|

Question is - where would glare and basic viewing be the best place to have it? Probably a stupid question, but has anyone else had the same dilemma?

What size is the room, and how often do you plan on using the fireplace??

If you have room inbetween the window and fire place I'd probably say there!

How big is the room?

The room's pretty small, so there's not enough room between the fireplace and wall. I'm 22 and rent a condo, so I don't have much of a choice, lol.

I use the fireplace once in a while, but I won't cover it. I'll get exact measurements tomorrow.
