this weekend I went to JoAnn fabrics locally, and had a hard time finding ribbing... when I finally did find it, they only had a light blue and a white, the material was kind of thin, and was NOT sewn in a tube...

I have seen on multiple web pages that people have bought ribbing that's made out of a t-shirt like material and is in the shape of a tube requiring only to pull it over your sonosub..

someone help me out... post a link or a product name or anything ..

    thanks

The product several people have used is called "ribbed stockenette"

Call the local cloth/fabric stores and ask for it

I picked some up from joann's. I just gave one of the workers a description of the material and how its in a tube shape and she pointed me in the right direction.

    Mike,

Where did you end up finding the material and how much did it cost? I'll be looking soon too.

    Mike,

How much did the ribbing shrink when you pulled it over the tube. I have an 18" Dia tube 46" long and want to know how much length I will loose when it stretches.

    Thanks!

3yds is 108". Does it stretch that much that I would need more than twice the length?

the 20" fabric stretched perfectly over the 19" tube i have.. it should be good over 18 also.. and as far as 3 yards... i had about 1 yard left after I was done .. better safe than sorry... it's only about $8

I picked some up last night at a local fabric store called Hancock Fabrics. It was $5.19/yd which I though was a good deal. I sure had a heck of a time finding it though. I called two places (Beverly's, and Jo-Ann's). They each told me they had it but when I went there they didn't have any except Jo-Ann's did but only the extra large one, it was nearly 20" in diameter unstretched so there was no way it would fit on my 18" tube. Finally found it at Hancock's and bought 3 yds. I have about 48" left over after fully coverng my 45"L tube, now I need to make another sonosub to use it.[IMG]
