At my local Hollywood Video, most all the DVD's are in DD. I mostly rent, but when I do buy at Walmart, or some other store, they are also almost always in DD.

Where do you get the DTS versions??

On dual releases I find that Best Buy generally has both versions or if you can't find it there you can definitely find it on-line.

As far as renting goes I can't really say since I don't rent, but I would guess that Netflix carries both versions.

I think there are only a few dual releases, and most of them seem to be associated with Steven Spielberg via Universal or Dreamworks:
    • Jurassic Park
    • The Lost World: Jurassic Park
    • Saving Private Ryan
    • Jaws
    • The Haunting
    • Amistad
    • The Prince of Egypt
    • Predator
    • The X-Files Movie
Then there's the SuperBit titles from Columbia. Otherwise, DTS is generally on the same disc as DD. If it's not on that disc, it's probably not available in DTS.
And as Travis said, you'll probably need to go to Best Buy or Circuit City (or FYE, Suncoast, or Media Play if you have money to burn) to find the DTS versions of the above.

    Peacemaker
    Dante's Peak

I am pretty sure that all Dreamworks releases have DTS. DTS is afterall partly owned by Speilberg.

    American Beauty
    Spy Game
    What Lies Beneath
    Almost Famous: Bootleg Edition

All the Vista Series DVDs have DTS.

    Pulp Fiction SE
    Seven Platinum Series
    T2: Ultimate Edition
    Dante's Peak

Some Fox titles have it, I have Point Break with DTS. And Die Hard 5 Star has it.

And some if not all Superbits have DTS.

DTS is out there, just have to look for it.

I have found that I seem to prefer DTS over DD, on the DVD's that have both. If given the chance to pick, I always pic DTS.

I've just noticed that most of the DVD's that I rent, and the ones that I own are almost all in DD. I just got LOTR for Christmas, and it is in DD. Rented XXX tonight....in DD.

I know there isn't a lot of choice when I rent....you get what they got. But when I purchase a title, if there is a DTS version, I'd be more inclined to buy it.

How do you know if a title is released in DTS??

    Damin,
Hey, when I went to dtsonline.com, and clicked on the available DTS movie list, all my computer showed was that little red circle, blue triangle and green square like the information was blocked by my computer or something. Do you know what I need to do to my computer to access the site?[IMG]
