I am going to order Harry Potter tonight, I have never ordered from a Canadian online store. I want the Philosopher's Stone as I am sure you have guessed, and I really don't need a speech about how there isn't much different, I have settled on Philosopher's Stone. But what I want to know, all who are ordereing this from Canada, where are you ordering from, I have seen dv-depot, what is the best place, or cheapest, and I want to be sure that I get the Philosopher's Stone and not the american version, because some of the Canadian retailers I looked up on Yahoo, list it as the american version.

Future Shop has Harry Potter on for what looks like a reasonable price. Click Link Removed.
I've ordered DVDs from them numerous times and have been quite pleased with their prices and timeliness of the shipments.

I've had great luck with DVDepot and they seem to have it for a reasonable price. It's listed as "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone."

you could try asking totalactionuniverse.com:

the text of the page refers to it as "Philosopher's Stone a.k.a. Sorcerer's Stone", but the disc art suggests it is Sorcerer's Stone.
what the heck, I'll ask myself, I wanna know too :D

I almost always use www.absound.ca; fast, cheap and reliable
Perhaps you would be interested to know this site has been hacked once in the past, and back then everybody who has ordered from them was potensially in danger of fraud because their entire order log including credit card numbers was stored on their web site. I have no idea what they are doing these days however.

Future Shop won't ship outside of Canada, or they didn't the last time I looked at their policies.

FYI - I got totally jacked around with Future Shop online. I ended up faxing a 4 page letter to the person in charge of the online store and it was eventually resolved MONTHS after the fact. I have grey hairs from that experience, and I swore I'd tell everyone I know (and those of you I don't know) that their online store sucks and I'll never deal with them again.

I just ordered it from the Chapters website. absound.ca had a better price but they're sold out. It totalled $35.78 with shipping to the U.S., which is something like $22.85 US. That's not bad at all, IMO. Amazon.com's more than that with ground shipping.

I think I will order from DV-Depot, because they have a courier service that will deliver within three days, I would hate to have it delivered 14 to 21 days after release, I want it May 28. I also wondered do places like this ship before street date, so that it will arrive on street date. Someone who has had experience with this please let me know.

HMV.com has it for Cdn$32.98 (somewhere between $21-$22 US) including shipping. I ordered a CD from them once and was surprised how fast it showed up at my home in suburban Detroit. I have never pre-ordered from them before, though.

I'll second Aarron Reynold's recommendation,Entertainment Warehouse at www.dvd-plus.com are excellent!
They're professional and reliable,I'm a regular customer myself because they seem to be the only ones who can get any KINO discs into Canada.:emoji_thumbsup:

Henry V, I loved you in that Shakepeare thing! :D
Did you deal with them online? I moved a bit ago and I miss going in there terribly. Maybe I'll just have to buy from them online and have them ship to me. Not the same, though.
They're great to talk to, and they absolutely love what they're doing.

I've got mine on order with Total Action Universe along with the best price on X-files Season 5 I've seen. I totally agree with Derek. I want the film as it was originally written and intended. Philosopher will be on my DVD rack, not Sorceror.

That's highly debateable. It would be more accurate to say, I want the film as the source material was originally written and intended. Since the U.S. is the top movie market currently, they may have even spent more time on the 'Sorcerer's' version than the 'Philosopher's' version. Still, I'm getting the Canadian release out of morbid curiousity. From what I hear, 98% of the film is exactly the same, anyway.
