Hey , I was just curious about town theaters and their speakers ect..

I have tried looking up websites, by searching for town theater speakers, ect. and things like that and I cant find anythign

do theaters have center , left adn right speakers, or is it just a bunch of speakers underneath the screen , /? or above it ?

I know their are surrounds ,, you can see those, but you cant see the others, im also curious as to how big subwoofers are in theaters,

i know they are different in different ones, but the theaters hear you can feel the bass sitting in the back of the room

Klipsch Professional Cinema Series. Acording to the Malco site, the new Paradiso theater in Memphis uses the new Klipsch KMX Grand system/63,000 watts of QSC power. There's a lot more info in the Press Release section.

In the 70s and 80s, most of the larger theaters used ALTEC "Voice of the Theater" systems behind the screen: A2s / A4s or A7s for smaller houses. These huge systems have fallen out of favor recently with the trends toward multichannel surround sound, generally smaller "cineplex" theaters, and cheap amplifier power. I belive JBL Pro and Klipsh have decent market shares these days. The JBL 2245H 18" driver is used frequently (often in multiple arrays) for subwoofer duty.

"today more than three quarters of all cinema loudspeakers sold worldwide come from JBL Professional."

--a quote from the JBL Pro Cinema website.

p.s. According to Webster (New Collegiate Dictionary, copyright 1981) "kool" is not a word.[IMG]

In toronto, most of the theaters including Famous players cinemas use JBL.
