I have a Velodyne HGS18 ..My pride and Joy.. Its busted... Its making some loud noise..all of a sudden...

I bought this mail order about 4 years ago.

Where in the Dallas/Fort worth area can I get this fixed?

Anyone know?

Thanks. Much appreciate it.

Hey Manny,
I like your style , that 3090 is a great amp :emoji_thumbsup:
I had one , but now I have a DSP-A1.
And I have a Velodyne sub , mine is an F-1200.
I have been having problems with mine as well.
It has a scratchy volume control and it also "pop`s" and bangs and then trips. So much for LFE (lol).
Does yours work at all ?
Mine will work , but just dosen`t have the `punch it once had , however it still sounds great with music.
I think the problem is power , just not enough.
How many watts does that `bad thing have anyway?
Mine has 100 and it could use a ton more.
What happens is that you can only use about half of what you have and the rest is just overdriven noise.
I think the best thing to do is call Velodyne and see if they can help you out.
Mine is to old , but I would like to get the volume control fixed , any ideas ? I have tried `canned air , and that works for a while but would like a permenent fix.
Sorry I can be of more help , best of luck.
Gary ;)

Hi Gary,

I have a F1200 servo too.. It was not enough..so I use it exclusively for music.

And then..I got the HGS18 servo with 1250 Watt amp. :) Its a nice piece..shiny black polished granite look...with remote and auto on/shotoff.

Its an awesome piece..untill about yesterday. :frowning:

Oh..well..hopefully..its something that can be fixed.. I can't afford another one.

It does not work... Just a low hum..and then it after 15 min or so..it kicks in... and goes berserk..I have to unplug the thing.

call velodyne. typically they dont bother repairing stuff, they just replace the plate amp. its not too bad if i remember, its a few hundred and they will just mail you a new plate amp that you can bolt in...

Hi Manny,
At 1250 W , you are sure to get a bang out of that !!:emoji_thumbsup:
Definatly call Velodyne , that is a realy great sub.
I`m sure the whole house would shake when it was working :)
Right now I`m `kinda looking around for a new sub , and have one eye on the Velodyne 1200 II and also the Axiom EP500.
Good luck , let us know how you make out !
Gary :D
